Kids and Adults
Nursing Homes & Rehab Centers!
In addition to our regular party services we provide ponies and petting zoos for parties, recreation, and therapeutic interaction sessions for special needs children and adults in private homes, group homes, camps and schools.
The interaction between special needs individuals and our animals has been extremely positive and our special needs clients, along with their parents and caregivers, have all been thrilled. We have extensive experience in this area and can provide plenty of references.Among the clients we have served are the following (please note that this is only a partial listing):
- DATAHR of Danbury - we provided a petting zoo at their annual picnic at a park for clients with many different types of disabilities in all age ranges.
- Various nursing homes - throughout the region
- Westchester Putnam Special Olympics - for 7+ years we provided pony rides and petting animals to the participants and spectators at the annual Special Olympics event. The event was recently moved to a new location which does not allow animals at this time. We are hoping though that this will change and we will be able to continue our visits at the Special Olympics!
- Walk Far for NAAR (National Alliance for Autism Research) - we provid the petting zoo at their annual Westchester fundraising walks.
- New York School for the Blind - we have done pony rides and petting zoos at this school many times in the past.
- Giant Steps Nursery School - this school for special needs children in Fairfield has had us bring our animals several times and the kids just love it. Some of the parents have had us to their homes for private parties for the kids, as well.
- Letchworth DDSO - we have brought a petting zoo to the adult clients living in the White Plains group home serviced by Letchworth DDSO many times. We have also brought our animals to other adult group homes in the area.
- The Rehab Center - we bring ponies and critters to this center for children fighting and recovering from serious illnesses.
- Making Headway Foundation - We bring ponies and animals to their annual party for children who have experienced Brain and Spinal Cord Tumors and Other Catastrophic Neurological Illnesses. We have been bringing our animals to the home of the Manley family for this party for many years. It is an incredibly joyful celebration and the animals are just one of the fabulous attractions that this wonderful family provides for these children and their families. - Putnam County Rehabilitation Respite Program - we've brought our small farm animals there.
- Camp Hope - we've brought petting zoos to this wonderful summer camp in Carmel, NY
