"KISS A PIG" Fundraiser

Many schools have had great success with this fundraiser. Here's how it works...
You get some teachers or administrators or others well-known at school to agree to kiss a pig in front of the entire school. You need to get at least three or four people to agree. Then you can set up jars with pictures and names of the "kissees". Members of the school community, especially the students and for private schools, board members, vote for the person they would most like to see kiss a real live pig by putting money into a jar with that person's name on it. On the day of reckoning, you simply see who has the most money or vouchers in their jar and then gather all the contestants in front of the school community and let the kissing begin!!!
To make the most of it, be sure to build excitement and anticipation of the event by posting pictures of large, muddy swine. The kids love this part! They are always surprised to see our cute, clean little pig show up! Plan to have the pig kissing linked to another event. For instance, some schools have the kissing at their field day or homecoming events so you have parents there too.
You will need a great emcee for the event. The emcee can often build suspense before the winner is revealed. Audience members will often, if encouraged, put in bids to see the non-winners or even other audience members kiss the pig. The bidding and offers can get wild! The Mizzentop Day school recently held this event and with the help of their parent-emcee they raised an additional $1200 for the school from teachers offering to pay money to see other teachers not originally involved in the event kiss the pig! Someone even gave the school a new computer just to see the computer teacher kiss the pig!
Not only is this a great way to raise money, but is is a great community spirit builder and LOTs of good, clean fun.
Our pigs are always neatly groomed and very clean for the day of their attendance and have all their shots, so cleanliness and safety are not an issue.
If you would like more information about this, just give us a call in the office or email us --- we'll be happy to help you set something up!
